Our
wonderful musicians are drawn from the Princeton area, although some
travel from Philadelphia and Manhattan. Such is
the commitment of the band that nobody is paid: everyone does it for the
sheer love of music and the enjoyment of good company. Our players come
from every kind of occupational and international background bringing a
wealth of diversity to bear on our great brass band tradition. We plan to
build on this tradition through commissioning many of Americas best composers, as well as
composers from around the world, to write new music especially for us. In
addition, we hope to build educational links with some of the world class
institutions and schools that surround us in the beautiful Princeton
area: the future of this burgeoning American brass band movement is with
the young, and we are already encouraging musicians of tomorrow, like
Robert King (14), whose mother brings him to sit in our Sunday night
rehearsals - to be inspired. Finally, we like to think of ourselves as a
family in the very best sense.
We
are building this family by winning a loyal audience that trusts us,
knowing that we can be relied upon to give them a quality experience with
musical memories to last a lifetime. This is why we do it: in a word INSPIRATION.
