ABOUT US

At this time in our history, when general interest in serious or ‘Classical’ music is in decline (in favor of pop), something remarkable is happening: across America (and Central Europe) there is a phenomenal explosion of interest in the so-called ‘British-Style’ Brass Band Movement. On the cutting edge of this explosion is the Princeton Brass Band (motto: ‘Resurgam: I Shall Rise Again’).

The Princeton Brass Band is full of ambition. We love to bring the very best of music to our audiences. Our repertoire is amazingly diverse: everything from original masterpieces (e.g. Holst, Elgar, Vaughan Williams, Ball, Gregson, Vinter, Wilby, Sparke, Bourgeois), orchestral transcriptions (e.g. Berlioz, Barber, Bernstein), uproarious entertainment (Riverdance, movie themes, fantastic solos played by our multi-talented members) or jazz and rock numbers (e.g. ‘Chelsea Bridge’ by Billy Strayhorn and ‘McArthur Park’ by Jimmy Webb). In short, our brass band can play most anything, to meet every nuance of taste and musical bliss!!
